Bring Your Mingling Game To Your Holiday Party!

’Tis the season to be jolly…and you know what that means; it’s time to mingle at the holiday party with your office team, and maybe even the entire company!

To help keep the event merry, cheery and bright, bring your Mingling Game and get to know others!

• Thank your hosts as you enter the celebration, and as you leave.
• If it’s a large gathering, wear your name tag; it can be a conversation opener and, help with introductions.
• Have a few holiday-oriented topics on hand; such as if/where you’re traveling, treasured traditions, local festive events you enjoy, best-loved holiday foods, beloved bedazzled neighborhoods, adored holiday songs/artists/playlists.
• Invite and welcome others to join in your conversation, and keep the circle open for more people to participate.
• Smile as you’re talking or looking for another group to say hello to.
• Be inclusive, especially to new employees, people new to the team, or Plus Ones.
• Try not to talk about work – it’s a party after all!
• Never engage in gossip, or controversial/confidential topics; if this happens gently deflect and transition to a more positive conversation, or excuse yourself to meet someone you haven’t seen in awhile.
• Make a goal of meeting one or more people you haven’t met yet.
